Inlays, onlays, and overlays as alternatives for traditional fillings
Perfect Dental Clinic offers modern solutions for reconstruction of badly damaged teeth that are much better than standard composite fillings.
Inlays and onlays are posts and cores that allow for a very tight and precise restoration of teeth’s anatomical shape. All parts of a damaged tooth are restored with the greatest detail and digital precision. Posts and cores are cemented with special and very strong cement, and then, a natural shape, colour and functions of the tooth are restored.
Although inlays and onlays resemble composite fillings, the procedure of placing them is completely different.
How does it work?
A dentist removes damaged dental tissue, an old filling and caries.
A digital impression is made with a special CEREC optical scanner. A digital image of the damaged tooth is created on the screen, and next, it is automatically sent to our Digital Laboratory – Perfect Dental Lab.
At the Laboratory, dental technicians carefully fabricate posts and cores, which are milled from small porcelain blocks and then, coloured to match individual needs. The process lasts about 30 minutes.
After a short break, a dentist places an inlay or onlay received from our laboratory in the cavity by using innovative and dedicated cement.
Within one appointment, our dentists are able to exchange all old fillings and replace them with posts and cores made from beautiful and extremely tight ceramic. Teeth restored this way do not practically differ from other natural teeth and are much more durable. As opposed to traditional fillings, this method allows our dentists for ideal restoration of contact points and reaching perfect tightness in subgingival areas.
